Cost-Effective Livestream
Livestreaming your church services can be a straightforward and affordable process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started:
Step 1: Setting Up Your TechSoup Account
First, ensure you have a TechSoup account set up. This is essential as it provides access to various non-profit resources. If you haven't set up an account yet, you can refer to the instructions in my previous blog post here.
Step 2: Accessing Mobile Beacon
Once your TechSoup account is ready, you will gain access to Mobile Beacon, a non-profit organization that offers affordable internet solutions.
Find Mobile Beacon on TechSoup: Locate Mobile Beacon through the TechSoup platform.
Purchase the 5G Hotspot: Purchase the $30.00 5G hotspot from Mobile Beacon. TechSoup will email you a Promotion Code/Request Number.
Redeem Your Promotion Code: Use this code on Mobile Beacon’s website to get the hotspot for free.
Pay for Internet Service: Mobile Beacon requires an upfront payment of $120 for 12 months of internet service, which is provided by T-Mobile. Ensure you have T-Mobile 5G coverage in your facility before proceeding.
Cost Summary So Far
TechSoup Fee: $0 (assuming you've already set up the account)

Step 3: Ordering the Live-Streaming Camera
For live-streaming, we recommend the Mevo Start camera. You can find it on Amazon, and there's an option to save $90 by purchasing a renewed device.
Step 4: Setting Up Your Equipment
Download the Mevo App: Install the Mevo app on your smartphone or tablet.
Connect to the Hotspot: Use the T-Mobile hotspot to connect your phone or tablet.
Power On and Connect: Turn on the Mevo device and connect it to the Mevo app via the hotspot.
Step 5: Going Live
Choose Your Platform: When you're ready to go live, you can choose to stream on Facebook or YouTube.
Maintain Your Service: To keep your internet service active, Mobile Beacon will bill you $120 annually. They will notify you 30 days before the renewal date.
